- Summary:
- Connected vehicle services have come a long way from the earlydays of telematics, both in terms of breadth of the class ofvehicles, and in terms of richness or complexity of the data beinghandled for Enhancing Customer Experience. The Connectivity Controlunit (CCU) is a gateway device for the vehicle to the outsideworld. While it enables transmission of vehicle data along with thelocation information. CCU is currently validated in the vehicle tocheck functionality. It has cost, time drawbacks and preventseffective testing of many scenarios. Bench level validation willnot be able to complete functionality validation. There is subsetof validation tools or semi-automated solutions are available inthe market, but they are not fully functional, and criticallycannot perform end to end validation. Automated Test setup for CCUin lab simulating the entire field data of the vehicle withmodifiable characteristics. For this solution all the I/Orequirements of CCU are simulated as equivalent to the real vehicleconditions and required equipment/tools used for the solution tovalidate the CCU are setup in lab conditions. This enablesvalidating all type of scenarios and criteria by writing automatedscripts, significantly reduce costs and increase coverage ofregression testing and reducing the overall Validation cycle. Thissolution is developed, testing is in-progress in Lab and this benchcan be operated remotely. Global devices can be validated in thetest setup as per the location and standards. Reduce the dependencyfor vehicle and driver to perform validation. One-time vehiclelevel data can be stored and playback on the test setup which helpsto check the bugs raised on the validation. Total validation timewill reduce for each software release, it will help improve quickroll-outs. Business requirement features are quickly developed andvalidated in the test setup
