Summary:
The present investigation deals with microstructural and mechanical properties of Pure Aluminum Graphene Nano platelets (GNP's) composites. The contents of GNP's varied from 2.5 to 4.5 wt. % in pure aluminium matrix. The composites fabrication was done through stir casting technique, and the investigations revealed that Pure Al -3.0% GNP's composite displayed better mechanical properties in comparison to other composites for tensile strength, hardness and impact strength and Pure Al- 4.5% GNP's showed better elastic property compare to all other composites. SEM and TEM analysis were done to examine the surface morphology, whereas the fractography of the tested composites and the XRD analysis was performed to inspect the phase analysis. By the above characterization it confirms a uniform distribution of GNPs in the pure aluminium matrix
