Summary:
AbstractAutomotive industry requires electrical circuit protection in each program development. The validation process usually requires physical hardware. This paper intends to present that it is possible to apply computational simulation in order to develop and validate new or modified circuits, features, routing and electrical architecture. This paper also describes a very important portion of Short Circuit Protection validation called I2t (method for estimating the fatiguing of a fuse for a given overload current pulse). I2t is very complex to be validated physically since it requires a significant amount of tests and hardware (statistics)
