- Summary:
- This paper presents a summary of development and testing of two crankcase ventilator systems which attain goals of simplicity, low cost, no atmospheric escape of blowby, and virtual maintenance free life. Typical tests and results are shown of component and system flow characteristics. System performance in the areas of ventilation, air-fuel ratio compensation, engine operation, flame stopping, and others are discussed. Conclusions are that these crankcase ventilation systems are compatible with both new and used vehicles, that they satisfy California requirements, and that life and maintenance are indeterminate factors, both exceeding 12,000 miles
