Summary:

PERT is used to plan an automotive disc brake project. The associated PERT networks and computer results are presented to illustrate the use of this technique in a development project.A preliminary PERT diagram was prepared to estimate the project completion date and to establish a schedule for the design phase. When the design was fixed a more complete diagram was completed and hardware delivery schedules were established. During the project it became necessary to revise the plan and PERT was used for this revision.The identification of the critical path and listing of activity slack time assisted in the more effective use of special facilities and helped to complete the project on schedule
