- The practical and theoretical considerations involved in determining a suspension specification are discussed in non-mathematical terms, and pointers are given as to ideal solutions to many of the major problems which still confront the suspension engineer. The conditions which prevail in Europe governing the design of vehicle suspension are stated, and the variety of arrangements currently in production is stressed. The salient suspension system features of the most recent car models to emerge from each of the largest British automobile manufacturers are described, and used to draw conclusions regarding the objectives of current European suspension design
