The types of mowers in use on the various tractor units are described: the sickle bar type mower for areas inaccessible to other types of mowers; the rear mounted rotary mower for all general mowing operations; the center mounted mower for dual lane divided highways; the pull type rotary mower for like areas; the side mounted rotary mower for steep slope mowing; and the hammer knife or flail mower. Tractor mower requirements are discussed, as is the use of chemicals to inhibit vegetation growth
