A detailed discussion of Oldsmobile's new 330 cu in. V-8 engine is presented. Though many of the fundamental dimensions of the 394 cu in. engine were suited for the new 330 cu inches engine, refinements were introduced to reduce weight, cost, and size while improving quality. These changes in materials, design, and production techniques are reviewed.
