- Summary:
- In this study of reactor design for CO2 absorption of LiOH particles, analytical solutions, derived for both axial flow and radial flow operations, reveal three important facts, namely, that inlet concentration has no effect on bed utilization and removal efficiency; where surface reaction is rate controlling, contact time is a governing parameter; and where diffusion is rate controlling, such as in the LiOH-Air-CO2 process, the length times diameter of the bed governs. Rate constant for the LiOH-Air-CO2 process as a function of velocity and pressure is determined. Method of estimating channeling effect and procedures of reactor sizing are illustrated
