Summary:
Proposed materials to be used both in aerospace and high-temperature automotive applications are described from the structural point of view. Factors which govern the method of sintering are categorized to point out the special care required for the production of the desired bearing directly in a mold.A discussion is presented on the anticipated advantages of these materials, which include improved friction and wear properties, ease of preparation, and adaptability to a wide variety of constituent materials, including brittle alloys. The possibilities of future advancement are also discussed
