Summary:
A static load test code for school bus body structure was developed to furnish a method of ascertaining the deflection of the body at several points. This offers to school transportation personnel on the state and national levels a code to use as reference in school bus body specifications for the purpose of restricting the maximum limits of deflection of roof assemblies, side wall assemblies, and floor assemblies. The body manufacturer is provided with a standard base for design purposes, without limitations of material types, material gages, or structural sectional shapes
