Summary:

A Society for implementing international cooperation in the field of vehicle-terrain mechanics was established in 1962. This new association composed of agricultural, soil, civil, mechanical, and automotive engineers, is described. Among its activities, the Society has carried out a world-wide survey reflecting the current research activities of its members and their degree of exchange relationship abroad. Problem areas in this field are enumerated as a result of the survey, and recommendations made\as to how international cooperation can be effectively undertaken
