With the advent of the supersonic transport accessory power system, designers will be faced with a quantum jump in power requirements and environmental conditions. All types of systems must be studied before a selection is made.The advantages and disadvantages of a pneumatic system for secondary power transmission on aerospace vehicles are given along with the results of four years operation of the pneumatic utility system on the Fairchild F-27. The requirements and operating conditions for secondary power on the supersonic transport are discussed and subsystem designs are presented
