- Summary:
- This paper presents an approach to use of sinusoidal fragilities for determining the ability of a component to withstand any specified random vibration environment. With this method a knowledge of the physical constants of the system is not required. The solution is not complete inasmuch as a probability of having a malfunction at any instant of time is obtained, and the problem of finding this probability over a finite time interval remains to be solved
