Summary:
A system, currently being developed, that computes mechanical impedance digitally from tape recorded analog signals is described. The problems associated with sampled data incurred during the data playback through an analog to digital converter are discussed and the design techniques employed to circumvent them are described. The merit of the system is that of being the first in a series of steps aimed toward efficient utilization of impedance data in follow-on computational routines
