- Summary:
- The increasing thermal stability requirements of JP-6 and other high-temperature fuels has focused attention on the use of additives as a means of preventing deterioration of these fuels under normal storage conditions. This paper briefly reviews past and current work in this area. Preliminary data and some tentative conclusions are given with regard to the Air Force sponsored program still in progress at Southwest Research Institute. In line with the objective of this program, a number of candidate additives selected by the Air Force are being screened for their effects in eliminating or retarding loss in fuel thermal stability, and also for any possible adverse effects on other fuel properties
