- Summary:
- Full-scale engine test programs were conducted both in the laboratory and the field to assess the relative importance of the various factors affecting filter life performance in passenger car service. Both commercially available and specially prepared filters were used in the two test programs. The results from both investigations confirmed that oil dispersant level-drain interval, engine design, and filter media all significantly affect filter life. It was further illustrated that individual effects can be magnified or diminished depending upon the combination of these factors
