- Summary:
- Conventional accelerometer orientations obtain only a portion of the system performance available from the accelerometers. Therefore, the use of optimum nonorthogonal and redundant accelerometer orientations can result in significantly improved performance. This paper develops a general formulation of the accelerometer orientation optimization problem, presents solutions for certain special cases, and includes the results of examples to demonstrate the potential of non-conventional orientations
