Applications of semiconductor devices in the automotive electrical industry have progressed to a great degree in recent years. This paper reviews the principles and uses of diodes, transistors, zener diodes, and other semiconductors. Important applications are in providing practical a-c generators, and voltage regulators of improved reliability.
