Summary:
Applications of semiconductor devices in the automotive electrical industry have progressed to a great degree in recent years. This paper reviews the principles and uses of diodes, transistors, zener diodes, and other semiconductors. Important applications are in providing practical a-c generators, and voltage regulators of improved reliability. Future applications may be automatic vehicle guidance systems, proximity braking, traffic warning and instructions broadcasts, and closed circuit television to replace the rear view mirror
