Summary:
This paper describes the building block method of developing a pneumatic circuit for controlling, directly from the bridge or engine room, the engines and clutches of a twin screw river boat. Each screw is driven by two nonreversing engines with nonslippable pneumatic reverse gears.Operation of a single lever achieves: no propulsion, forward propulsion, astern propulsion, or the degree of propulsion in the direction ordered. Interlocking protects the equipment and personnel and provides efficient operation, even by an operator inexperienced with propulsion equipment
