Summary:

This paper discusses the activity of SAE Committee AGE-2 in the development of Proposed Aerospace Recommended Practice 761, which recommends use of a standard format and index in publication of operating, maintenance, and overhaul manuals for ground support equipment used by theairlines. This proposal is new in that there is no known publication standard at this time, either for equipment used in the aircraft or any other industry. Adoption of this standard would provide great convenience to airlines and, it is anticipated, will result in cost savings and will provide a frame of reference where none exists now
