- THE DESIGN and operating characteristics of a new ground support vehicle is described in this paper. Built for the Air Force, the Teracruzer weighs only 16,000 lb and has a maximum pay-load of 16,000 lb.The vehicle uses Goodyear high-flotation tires of 42-inches diameter, the air pressure of which is controlled by the driver. All wheels have axle drive. Angle drive brings the drive down through the centerline of the steering fifth wheel
