The use of anaerobic adhesives and sealants has become widespread in the automotive industry in recent years. A particular form of anaerobic adhesive, the retaining compound, can offer significant improvements over mechanical methods in the mating of cylindrical parts such as the mounting of bearings, gears, pulleys, fans, cams, collars and flywheels.
