The investigation into spark timing characteristics was carriedout on a 2000 cm\u3 Ford Pinto engine mounted in a test cell.Autolite, Lumenition, and Bosch ignition systems have beeninvestigated.Two methods of measurement of spark timing and timing scatterare proposed, and evaluated in terms of dynamic and static enginebehavior.
