- Summary:
- The demands on today's Army in the area of construction are greater than they have ever been. Rapidly advancing technology and the ever increasing reliance on sophisticated military systems and equipment have transformed the Army's (world-wide) construction mission into one which closely parallels the civilian construction industry.Because of the intense competition in the commercial market, the construction industry has long recognized the need for and has practiced continuous modernization of equipment through research and development. In recognition of the same need for modernization, and to take full advantage of industry's advances in the state-of-the-art the Army has adopted a policy of equipping construction-type units with commercial construction equipment (CCE)
