Automotive technology is changing. Electrostatic powder coating is a fairly new method for applying finishing coatings. It is gaining acceptability in replacing fluid coatings.Today, electrostatic powder coating is feasible in coating nonvisible automotive parts, parts requiring high corrosion protection, evening out rough castings, and finishes requiring surfaces that are soft to the touch. Electrostatic powder coating of exterior automobile finishes is not too far away.This paper outlines the principle of electrostatic powder coating and general parameters in currently available electrostatic powder production equipment
