Summary:

This paper describes some features of the computer graphics programs featuring interaction between man and computer that are being applied to designing backhoes and loaders. Since the programs are mathematical models of general backhoes and loaders, some effort was extended to illustrate the use of this concept in analyzing a wide range of machines. Some sample output frames appear with detailed examples of problem types being solved. Specific engineering capabilities are enumerated and time savings estimates are given
