All construction equipment manufactured today must be serviced and repaired. Proper selection and location of components must be a major consideration in the design of new equipment. "Serviceability" affects the customer, the dealer, and the manufacturer. Data concerning these effects, plus suggestions on some of the major factors to consider in the selection and location of components and methods of installing service items, are presented here in an effort to show the need for "serviceability"
