- New government and industry test specifications have imposed many changes in tire durability testing. Changes in speed and load of tires during an endurance test are easily accomplished with a programmed test machine. Loading is done by a servo-type d-c gearmotor and ball screw, while speed is controlled by a thyristor (SCR) drive system. Both speed and load can then be varied in relation to time or miles
