A seventeen degree of freedom hybrid computer simulation of the automobile has been developed to allow the dynamic study of simultaneous large amplitude performance, cornering, and ride motions. This simulation, capable of running in real time, combines the speed of the analog computer to solve the differential equations of motion with the accuracy of the digital computer to perform coordinate transformations and to computer the nonlinear tire forces
