Summary:

The Advanced Instrument Group at Collins Radio Company is conducting feasibility studies of advanced technology displays for flight control instruments. This interim report summarizes the results of CRT (cathode ray tube) displays in business aircraft with emphasis upon the EADI (electronic attitude director indicator). Display concepts and philosophy are discussed, along with engineering and human factors considerations of EADI's. Some characteristics of EADI's and current electromechanical designs are compared. Other possible applications of CRT displays in the cockpit are presented
