Summary:
The air cleaning requirements of diesel engines have become more demanding each year. Airflow has increased, while the space available for the air cleaning mechanism has remained stable or has been reduced in the search for smaller, more productive machines. In a "dry" type air cleaning system a highly efficient precleaner can reduce the physical size of the package by keeping up to 95% of ingested dust or contaminant from reaching the final filter. Described and illustrated is a heavy duty air cleaning system using a high performance precleaner and its application on a modern track-type tractor
