- Summary:
- WARTIME shortages are making "conservation" the watchword of the average citizen as well as of the operator of large fleets of motor trucks. Since the fleet operator has always practiced a certain amount of conservation, he is apt to feel that he is already doing about all he can to protect his machines. In this paper, Mr. Cass shows why it is necessary for the truck operator to reappraise his situation, not overlooking any possible method whereby parts can be made to last longer. He also suggests a program for carrying out this fundamental purpose of taking care of what we have:As the present equipment gets older and older, Mr. Cass stresses, it is essential that there be no let-up in the practice of this preventive maintenance - rather it will be necessary to buckle down and practice it more faithfully than ever
