Summary:
Public acceptance and use of scheduled helicopter airlines have shown a dramatic increase over the past several years -- but airlines' profit has not. This is due to extremely high costs, particularly passenger service and maintenance.This paper discusses possible economies in passenger service -- with use of computers -- and in maintenance -- cost sharing with manufacturers -- to equalize the profits of helicopter airlines with those of fixed-wing carriers
