The software has a significant influence on the production lines, due to the time required to flash it onto the vehicle and its capabilities to test vehicle functions during production. In this paper we identify the main pain points regarding software in the manufacturing process by performing a structured analysis on the experiences made at a major car manufacturer over last two years.
