Summary:
The goal of Military HEV Program organized by military industry is to develop a hybrid electric military bus prototype, which achieves higher fuel economy than that of conventional bus running in city. Moreover, it can be used as civil public transit bus. The series configuration of power train is employed for hybrid electric military vehicle. The energy management strategy and control algorithm is presented, which can control the output of engine and motor to satisfy the requirement of propelling power, regulate engine operation points within high efficient area, and maintain SOC at reasonable level without charging outside. Method and assessment criteria of parametric design for series HEV power train is presented to determine specification of power train targeting higher fuel economy. Based on the energy management strategy and parametric design the development of control system and integration of HEV power train
