Summary:
The nonlinear material of Metallic Rubber (MR) is used widely in engineering, especially in isolation system. Considering the two-dimensional (2-D) loading widely occurred in dynamic system, this paper describes the effect of different loading processes on dry friction damping performance, which is based on the Masing model and its derivations. First, one-dimensional experiments are explored and primary loading lines are obtained to describe the full loop. Then two perpendicular loading processes are researched in order to find the relationship between these two loading with different directions. Particular attention is paid to the description of hysteresis loop with 2-D loading process
