- Summary:
- The purpose of this study is to design extended rods on both edges of vanes and guider slots on both covered plates of a compressor. The extended rods are inserted into the guider slots. Vanes follow the path of guider slots and slide inward and outward in rotor slots when the rotor rotates. This design provides a minimum contact force between the stator and vanes while remaining good compression performance. In the meantime, impact and noise created between the stator and vanes can be reduced at any rotor rotational speed. The profile of the guider slot is presented. Central locations of the extended rod and the force acted on it, the relative velocity and acceleration of vanes to the rotor are investigated. The mechanical efficiency of the compressor with the guider slots for vanes is better than that of the previous existing design
