- Summary:
- This article mainly studies the support interference effect elimination and test method of the scale model of a heavy truck in a wind tunnel. According to the formation mechanism, the support interference effect can be divided into two parts: aerodynamic interference effect (the aerodynamic drag of the support device) and flow field interference effect (the aerodynamic change of the tested model caused by the flow field of the support device); the former is mainly the horizontal rod and the vertical rod of the support device. However, the latter is related to the change of the body flow field, which needs to be quantitatively evaluated by means of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. In this article, by optimizing the airfoil section structure of the support device and adjusting its distance from the vehicle body, the aerodynamic interference effect proportion of the support device is reduced from 22% to 11.8%, while the flow field interference effect proportion is only 0.4%. Therefore, in engineering practice, the influence of the flow field interference effect can be ignored to simplify the test process
