Summary:
AbstractQuick and accurate methods to plot B-H curves in EXCEL are described, which measure magnetic properties under any condition. Methods are shown that simulate gapped core inductors. This is an important method to bring electronic data from magnetic measurements and simplify performance analysis. Simple techniques of driving cores with sinusoidal waveforms to get voltage and current waveforms is all that is necessary to plot accurate B-H curves in EXCEL. Similar measurements can be used to measure incremental permeability. With this data, an accurate simulation model of a gapped core inductor can be made. With these techniques, the cores can be tested at any frequency and any temperature for accurate performance limit measurements
