- Summary:
- Real time monitoring for all critical components in commercial aviation will improve performance, reduce the cost of operations and improve overall safety. All the technology required to implement real time monitoring in commercial aviation exists and is being utilized in thousands of process manufacturing sites. This system of real time monitoring will provide operators with the ability to proactively monitor all aircraft while in operation and be alerted when critical components violate pre-set thresholds. Developing problems can be spotted before they become failures and outages. They will also be able to measure the performance of components, engines, wings, fuel systems and airframes. Manufacturers can get immediate feedback on how well their components are performing and review design and manufacturing in order to implement continuous improvement. Finally, operators will be able to see that all equipment is being operated within the standards set by the manufacturers and improve operating performance
