Flat wiring like FPC and FFC, already being used for decades in the automotive industry, is now also present inside the wiring harness systems. The advantages of flat wires, for instance weight reduction and easier assembly, can only be achieved, if care is taken to optimize the size of conductors and the interconnection technology.
