Summary:
During the development of any vehicle model, NVH targets constantly lead to contradictory specifications, specially when related to vehicular dynamic. In order to identify better options of products and components, during this process, and indicate the way to be followed, it is necessary to quantitatively evaluate high amplitude vibrations in the power train. This article presents comparisons among different models and suspensions of power train exemplifying the use of a combined procedure to identify and quantify the engine shaking phenomenon trough the envelope and kurtosis techniques. A deep knowledge of the signal analysis involved will help the product engineer in finding better solutions to this typical development problem
