Summary:
This paper describes the use of sound radiation analysis of an air intake system for commercial vehicles. The aim of this work is to assess the vibro-acoustic behavior of an air intake system and describe an integrated approach between product development engineering and numerical simulation team. The emphasis is on the numerical work, where a sound radiation analysis was shown to be very useful for the development process of new products. As a conclusion it can be pointed out that the integration between numerical simulation and development group is the best way to improve an initial air intake system structural design for commercial vehicles
