Summary:
A theoretical analysis has been carried out to study the flow transfer behind a zero degree hubbed vanes under isothermal conditions by using an available CFD package. The numerical calculations have been performed using SIMPLE algorithm with unstructured grid arrangement in which time averaged transport equations for mass, momentum, turbulence energy and dissipation are solved by finite volume method. The two- equation turbulence model namely the k-ε model is used for analysis. The predicted axial velocity distribution are compared with the experimental results available. It is seen that the agreement is quite satisfactory
