Summary:
In the paper a new concept of the reference cycle (called as eco-cycle) of IC engine is presented. Diminishing of emission (gaseous phase and solid particles) from combustion engines can be achieved by realisation of two groups of undertakings: primary (inside-engine) doings, secondary doings, comprising catalysts and solid particle filters. The work of the engine basing on the eco-cycle occurs in two 3-stroke stages. In range of each stage a new portion of fuel is burned. The fuel combustion for the whole cycle can be performed at relatively low values of air excess λef 1. The proposed solution bases on the possibilities of the diminishing of the emission, which the primary doings contain. The elaborated eco-cycle leads to the diminishing of the toxic substance emission and to the improving of engine efficiency
