Summary:
Nafion® membrane based electrolysis units have become the technology of choice for the United States and Royal Navy submarines, NASA life support systems and commercial high purity hydrogen generation plants. Nafion® solid polymer electrolyte systems have been in field use for over 17 years. For the US and Royal navies, logistics considerations require storage of spare cell stacks. This paper outlines the depot experience and procedures used for the storage of inactive systems and assembled cell stacks
