The objective of this effort is to simplify the task of developing hardware and software for multiple automotive platforms and makers. This paper will describe the AMIC organization, and provide a summary of the progress to date. The overall architecture requirements will be briefly described and the expected impact of these requirements on applications and products will be analyzed
