- Summary:
- The optimization of the electronics architecture of the vehiclerequests flexibility in introducing new functionalities at acompetitive cost. Within a consortium project called "EmbeddedElectronics Architecture,'' two car manufacturers: Renaultand PSA, Aerospatiale, three tier 2 suppliers: Sagem, Siemens andValeo, three R&D labs: INRIA, IRCyN and Loria have joined theirR&D efforts. The partners define a fast and reliable processfor designing the system architecture, developing the associatedembedded software, selecting the appropriate hardware and softwareallocation, defining and integrating reusable components. Thedevelopment process is based on independence between hardware andsoftware, standard components, development methods and tools, contactualization of the development issues between partners. The paper will introduce the consortium activities, thetechnical approach and give the first results: ArchitectureImplementation Language(AIL), interface , standardiza-tion,development methodologies
