- Summary:
- One of the main aspects of the research in switched reluctance motor drives is the converter design. The performance and the cost of the drive is highly affected by performance of the converters. Although a number of converters have emerged over the years for SRM drives. All converters have their own advantages and drawbacks. There has always been a trade-off between gaining some of the advantages and losing some with each new topology. The selection of a converter, in most of the cases, depends upon the application. To facilitate the selection a comparative study is presented in this paper. A classification of SRM converter topologies with a detailed analysis of each topology is presented
